It is a four year degree programme designed to cater to the needs of agriculture requiring engineering applications like farm mechanization, soil tillage, irrigation and Drainage engineering, micro-irrigation, post harvest technologies and processing of agricultural and horticultural products for storage, grading and value addition, dairy and food engineering, applications of wind and solar energy, agricultural structures for soil and water conservation, irrigation and drainage and for storage and processing of food grains. Admissions to the UG programme is based on the candidate's performance in OUAT entrance examination conducted by OUAT every year. Some seats are reserved for candidates from other states under ICAR quota. Intermediate with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology group candidates only are eligible for B.Tech (Agril Engg) degree programme.

The Post-Graduate programmes in the following three specializations are started during this academic year 2006-07. These programmes deal with the advanced aspects in agricultural engineering. The University scholarships are available for all the students admitted into PG programmes.

  1. M.Tech in Farm Machinery and Power
  2. M.Tech in Soil and Water Engineering
  3. M.Tech in Agricultural Process & Food Engineering
Admission to the PG programme is based on the candidate's performance in the entrance examination conducted by the University. B.Tech/B.E (Agricultural Engineering) from a recognized university is the minimum qualification for admission into the PG programmes. Three seats in each specialization are available.

The Ph.D programmes in the following three specializations are started during this academic year 2012-13. These programmes deal with the advanced aspects and research in agricultural engineering. The University scholarships are available for all the students admitted into Ph.D programmes.
